Swimming Carnival

Once again, we were blessed with fantastic weather for our Swimming ‘Fun’ Carnival. The students all showed great sportsmanship and a grandparent commented on how lovely it was to see the students who had finished a race wait and cheer on all the students still swimming. All students had improved their skills and some there were some close races in each division. Well done to everyone! After speaking to the students this week, the most popular game was (of course) the Minty Scramble!

Congratulations to the following students:

Intermediate girls champion – Charlie Guidi, runner-up – Amelia Te-Aotonga

Intermediate boys champion – Archie Atkinson, runner-up – Alexander Mathwin and Deekin Tunui

Senior girls joint champions – Chaaya Jury and Sofia Tunui

Senior boys champion – Oscar Fisher, runner-up – Ruben Stansbury

Thank you to all the parents and staff who had jobs on the day and a big ‘thank you’ to Gavin at the pool who also helped with the set up on the day.

Students attended an information session on Dental Hygiene on Thursday 7th March. Topics covered included the benefits of regular brushing, eating tooth-friendly foods, drinking tap water whenever possible and regular visits to the dentist.

This information was provided as part of the Teledentistry Project run by CSIRO & UWA which some St Bernard’s families are taking part in. Students were also shown what the dental screening process will look like for those taking part in the project. If you wish to participate in this FREE screening project, please contact the office before Monday 11th March.
