Allergy Aware School

Year 5/6 Class

It has been a busy few weeks and the Year 5/6 class has returned to school full of enthusiasm. We welcome Xavier, our newest member of the class to St Bernard’s. Our first week saw the students getting settled and organised.

The Year Five students were keen to use the ‘Chromebooks’ for the first time and were quick to familiarise themselves with the devices.

Congratulations to the Year Six leaders and captains, who though a little nervous, did a terrific job presenting the first merit assembly on Friday. Our Ministry Leaders are busy working with Mrs. Marino to define their roles within the school and we look forward to seeing them in action. Well done also to the Year Sixes for reading at our first Mass for the year.

Much of our classroom time is being spent on establishing routines and expectations. Teachers and students alike are learning our new spelling program and establishing skills that the students will use in our literacy stations. We have also been doing our diagnostic testing and students have risen to the challenge.

Our classroom theme this year is all about being a R.O.C.K.S.T.A.R! That is, the students aim to be:

Responsible – Organised – Creative – Kind – Smart – Trustworthy – Amazing – Respectful.
